Three things that are making today awesome

1. Whole wheat everything bagel. mmm.

2. Baseball season is coming! The mets pre-season is on, and my boys are looking real good. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy to see them playing again. Damn, I love this team.

3. Seeing Elizabeth & the Catapult tonight. If you could take happiness, kites, and rainbows, put them in the blender and turn the concoction into music, it would sound like this band.

Almost enough to make Moxie return to acting

Hooray, it's baseball season!! And with baseball season comes The Mets, and with The Mets comes a squadron of cute athletic young men in matching outfits. The ringleader is David Wright, a dashing but wholesome 24-year-old who happens to also be very very good at baseball. New York Mag has an article about the charismatic, bedimpled Wright, in which he details some of the reasoning behind his wholesome image:

When you’re coming up [into the major leagues], they have meetings with you about drugs, about drinking, about women. They hire these actors who come in and perform a bunch of scenarios. It’s pretty funny and basic, but it sticks in the head of someone who’s 18 or 19 years old
Uh, anybody know how to audition? I think I could play a really good baseball-lovin' hussy, ready to entice young players with promises of jazz and liquor.
